Emmaus College
The person of Jesus Christ is firmly at the center of Emmaus College's faith as a Christ-centered community. Their spirituality is fed by the Luke's Gospel account of the Walk to Emmaus, from which the College takes its name. Students are inspired to uphold the fundamental principles of faith, community, respect, excellence, integrity, and service as well as to strive for academic distinction. Emmaus wants to make sure that students gain and use the knowledge and skills they need to be prepared for the future. Co-educational education is something that Emmaus College is happy to offer as a Catholic institution since they firmly feel that it benefits the vast majority of students. It is only natural for young people to spend their formative adolescent and young adult years together in a co-educational setting given the modern culture in which they live. In their opinion, doing this best prepares students for adulthood.
The four C's—Critical Thinking Skills, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity—are particularly important for 21st-century learning, and Emmaus College wants to make sure that students are able to develop these abilities. Along with the basics of literacy and numeracy, students need to develop these skills.
