Emmaus College

Emmaus College

The person of Jesus Christ is firmly at the center of Emmaus College's faith as a Christ-centered community. Their spirituality is fed by the Luke's Gospel account of the Walk to Emmaus, from which the College takes its name. Students are inspired to uphold the fundamental principles of faith, community, respect, excellence, integrity, and service as well as to strive for academic distinction. Emmaus wants to make sure that students gain and use the knowledge and skills they need to be prepared for the future. As a Christ-centered community, they strive to foster a nurturing environment where students can reach their full potential in all facets of life. The College places a lot of emphasis on pastoral care, which supports and improves students' psychological, social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual welfare.

Being a part of the Catholic Church, a community of believers, helps to strengthen and deepen their relationship with God through Jesus.

Students are urged by the school to uphold the fundamental principles of faith, community, respect, excellence, integrity, and service.

They hope that their graduates will be caring, inquisitive, religious, self-reliant, strong, and creative.

The four Houses of Chavoin, Colin, More, and Rice add to the college's spirituality. These Houses inspire the members of the House to consider how they too might carry out their Christian calling by recalling the charisms of their namesakes.

Co-educational education is something that Emmaus College is happy to offer as a Catholic institution since they firmly feel that it benefits the vast majority of students. It is only natural for young people to spend their formative adolescent and young adult years together in a co-educational setting given the modern culture in which they live. In their opinion, doing this best prepares students for adulthood.

The four C's—Critical Thinking Skills, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity—are particularly important for 21st-century learning, and Emmaus College wants to make sure that students are able to develop these abilities. With the use of these abilities, students will be able to solve problems in a variety of ways, think more clearly, and approach communication in a team-oriented manner. Along with the basics of literacy and numeracy, students need to develop these skills.

The whole pastoral care environment that results from the College's efforts to promote and develop students' personal, social, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing is known as "well-being." Positive self-esteem, respect for others, healthy relationships, responsible behavior, inner resiliency, and interest in learning are essential components of student wellbeing.
