Wavlink is a non-for profit, charitable organisation and reliable community service provider within Monash, Australia. City of Monash. They provide a variety of unique, creative, social and skill development programs specifically designed for adults with moderate to mild disabilities, careers, and people who require a receptive and comfortable learning environment.

The center of their activities is their Neighbourhood House located in Glen Waverley and other local places of community. Everyone of all experiences and backgrounds are welcomed and they promote inclusivity, diversity and community participation. Their programs are based on the preferences of their participants. Wavlink is a reputable services provider to the community for more than 40 years. They are based at their well-loved Community House on Myrtle St Glen Waverley located close to the local shops and public transportation. They also provide a range of programs online as well as at various other locations in all of the City of Monash. They provide accessible, engaging educational, and social programs specifically designed for those with disabilities or any other special requirements. Their goal is to encourage inclusivity and diversity as well as to offer valuable learning opportunities and opportunities to be part of their community.

Wavlink receives support from the Commonwealth, State and Local Area Government – the City of Monash and are members of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria (NHVic) as well as the Network of Inner Easter Community Houses (NIECH). They are a non-for-profit organisation for charitable purposes and are licensed as a provider of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Home and Community Care Program Younger Persons (HACC PYP) and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

They have a history of providing high-quality programs that are able to meet the demands of their communities. They are proud of their innovative and flexible approach to helping their clients reach their objectives.

In 1981, which was the Year of the Disabled Person studies conducted of the Waverley City Council identified a absence of services for those who have disabilities. The first gathering with Waverley Activity Centre Organisation Waverley Activity Centre Organisation was held on October 8th, 1981.

The woodworking program pilot was started within the workshop of Waverley Community Health Centre and managed through the Centre’s Occupational Therapist along with volunteers. The funding was obtained through submissions to community organizations such as service clubs, business and trusts for philanthropy.

In 1982, a home located at 33 Montclair Avenue, Glen Waverley was renovated for those who were disabled and made for rent through The Waverley City Council. Service clubs offered access to the physically impaired through ramps, and also by modifying the garage. On September 30, 1982, the inaugural Annual General Meeting was held to mark the official opening. their name organization has been changed Wavlink.

Participant numbers grew steadily the number of participants grew, and Wavlink was financed as a Neighbourhood House, becoming an Incorporated Association on December 19, 1985. Waverley Council acknowledged the need for larger facilities.

In the year 1990, Waverley Council purchased a house located on Myrtle Street and spent $129,000 to remodel and expand it. The 29th of June 1991 was the day of official opening Wavlink’s new residence by the Mayor Cr. Heffernan.

In 1999, an Access and Equity report identified the need for improvements in Wavlink’s accessibility and facilities. In 2000, funding was obtained through Monash Council, Wavlink and the Department of Human Services to complete significant improvements. On April 9, 2001, the newly renovated Wavlink was officially inaugurated with the help of Monash Council Mayor, Cr. Tom Morrissey.
