Wind of Change International

Wind of Change was the result of two people’s passions for humanitarian work. They have witnessed the potential for people in Nepal, through their work, travels and experiences, to live a better life. However, they feel they are being held back by a lack of opportunities. They want to help these people improve their lives and provide a better future.

They believe every child deserves a decent childhood. Every child should be able to live in a safe and healthy home and receive quality education. Children who live at Onni Children’s House receive loving and safe care. They are encouraged to be happy, healthy, balanced, and hopeful for the future.

Their core value is education. Education is the only way a country can realize its potential and take advantage of all available opportunities. Quality education gives youth, particularly girls, the chance to discover their potential to excel and explore life. They feel they can help provide education for children by supporting the Scholarship Program. These children still live at home, but the Scholarship Program encourages families to stay together to avoid unnecessary admissions.

They are not here for the sake of saving the world, given the immense scale and complexity of development issues, as well as the depth of these problems. They see themselves as an effective, small-scale agent of change that changes the lives of a few. They see themselves as an alternative to large aid agencies because they believe they can make a significant difference in the lives of those they serve and their communities through their personal involvement.

They are excited about the journey and expect it to continue to be rewarding and successful.

Wind of Change in Nepal has had great success in expanding projects and ensuring happy beneficiaries. There are still many challenges. The country is plagued by political and financial uncertainty, low education levels and poor infrastructure. This makes living conditions difficult. These challenges are exacerbated by the Earthquake of April 2015, the annual floods and the destruction and devastation caused by it.

Only long-term commitment to addressing the root causes will make Nepal a more competitive country and a safer, fairer, and healthier place to live. Wind of Change believes that by providing education and safe children for children, Wind of Change will contribute to a better Nepal.
